Transit Point @ Jalan Kukoh

Transit Point @ Jalan Kukoh (TP@JK) is a transitional shelter that provides temporary accommodation and social work intervention to displaced families and individuals who have exhausted all other means of accommodation. Residents work with our social work professionals to address their needs and develop intervention plans towards achieving long-term and stable housing.
 
TP@JK has its roots in 2007, when the then-Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) appointed New Hope CS to run shelter services for displaced families. Operating out of several Housing and Development Board (HDB) units, the "Shelter for Displaced Families" would become the first government-supported homeless shelter in Singapore.
 
A few years later, in 2010, MCYS (now renamed Ministry of Social and Family Development, MSF) appointed New Hope CS to expand its shelter services to serve displaced male and female individuals too. More HDB units were placed under New Hope CS' custody so that more could receive temporary shelter. By 2013, these units, which were scattered across the North, West and South of Singapore, would be consolidated into one area in Chinatown for greater efficiency and management. These units form what is TP@JK today.
 
TP@JK has a maximum occupancy of around 110 families and individuals.
