SINGAPORE, 27 July 2026 — As part of our continued growth and commitment to strong governance, New Hope Community Services (New Hope CS) will transition to a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG), New Hope Community Services Limited with effect from 1 August 2026.
This transition marks an important milestone in the organisation's growth, strengthening our governance structure to support our long-term sustainability and continued service to the community.
Over the coming months, stakeholders may notice updates to our corporate information, including our registration details, official documentation, and other administrative records. These changes are administrative in nature and will be implemented progressively following the transition.
While our corporate structure will change, our mission, programmes, services, and commitment to the community remain unchanged. New Hope Community Services will continue to serve displaced and disadvantaged individuals and families, journeying alongside them as they work towards stability and self-reliance.
We remain deeply grateful for the trust and support of our donors, partners, volunteers, beneficiaries, and the wider community. As we enter this next chapter, we look forward to continuing our work together to create lasting impact for those we serve.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Why is New Hope Community Services becoming a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG)?
As New Hope Community Services has grown, transitioning to a CLG allows us to adopt a corporate structure that supports stronger governance, accountability, and long-term sustainability. This enables us to better support our expanding operations while continuing to fulfil our charitable mission.
2. What is a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG)?
A Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) is a legal structure commonly adopted by non-profit organisations and charities in Singapore. Unlike companies with shareholders, a CLG has members who act as guarantors instead of shareholders, and any surplus generated is reinvested into the organisation's charitable purposes rather than distributed as profits.
3. Will New Hope Community Services' mission or services change?
No. Our mission, programmes, services, and commitment to serving the community remain unchanged. This transition only changes our legal structure and strengthens our governance framework.
4. Will this affect beneficiaries, volunteers, partners or donors?
No. There will be no disruption to our programmes or services. Our beneficiaries will continue to receive support, and we will continue working closely with our volunteers, corporate partners, donors, and community stakeholders as usual.
5. Will my donations still be tax-deductible?
Yes. New Hope Community Services will continue to operate as a registered charity and Institution of a Public Character (IPC). Eligible donations will continue to qualify for tax deduction in accordance with prevailing regulations.
